Everyone’s favourite page filler Lindsay Lohan has starred in Philipp Plein’s spring 2012 campaign.

Depsite legal worries that she may not be granted access into Italy for the shoot due to a variety of offences, LiLo made it and looks fierce in a variety of glamorous designs.

Her American heritage is honoured in the main campaign image, which features Linsday clutching an American flag mini bag whilst posing on the dock of Lake Como.

Is 2012 the year of the beauty innovation? Well Guerlain certainly think so and have got in there early, launching the world’s first ever refillable mascara.

The beauty brand will launch their ‘Noir G de Guerlain’ mascara exclusively at Harrods on 1st February. The mascara combines an innovative jewel case design with a brand new formula for defined eyes. As if this isn’t enough The House of Guerlain has also created created a signature fragrance for the mascara, featuring notes of peach, green vegetables, rose, jasmine, benzoin and white musk.

In a bid to stay on top of emerging edgier competitors, beauty brand Sally Hansen has created a product which allows consumers to recreate salon trends at home. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Nail Polish Strips are embedded with real nail polish and can be applied in the comfort of one’s own home by simply peeling off a protective layer, then fitting and filing the nail.

The strips were designed to mimic the effects of the widely popular salon process, ‘Minx’, a favourite with celebrities such as Lady Gaga. It can cost more than £30 to have Minx nails applied, and the process is often time-consuming.

“Minx is very big, and we’ve found a way to allow women to do it at home for much less,” said the vice president of marketing for the sally Hansen Group, Annette Devita. “We looked at how we can translate Minx at home.

The strips, which last ten days are DBP, toluene and formaldehyde-free, odourless and do not need to dry. Designs include neon, metallic and high-shine patterns and will cost just under ten dollars for a set containing sixteen strips, a cuticle stick, a mini file-buffer and full instructions.
